I used to hate wordpress, really, I used to hate wordpress, so I spent along time writing my own cms in php, then, moved on the Ruby on Rails, and thought it was the best thing since… well, php. Then I moved into an SEO role at my last ‘real’ job, and found out really quickly, that when you have an idea, you have to get moving quickly!So was asked to make a few custom themes for wordpress sites we had to get up and running like yesterday, and found out, it is the perfect tool for a quick blog, even a business tool to make some pretty indepth sites very quickly, even making a custom plugin and tweaking things quickly. Now most things I do for myself, or clients involves wp in someway, just standard installs, and now BuddyPress is in the mix, and you can really put something up in minutes that is useable. This wordpress for seo section will be my ‘notes’ to myself, hopefully someone else can get some use out of them also.
In terms of SEO, is wordpress ok out of the box? not in my opinion, but what would I know? but once you have a workflow laid out, you can quickly and easily get your site up and running and SEO friendlier than your neighbors website, and that is cool.
